TONY CROLL

PRODUCER / DIRECTOR / DP

Tony has been actively shooting since receiving his first camera at the age of 13. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and spent his undergraduate years at the University of Michigan where he studied still photography and film. He received his MFA from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Cinema and Television. After joining the Directors Guild of America in 2003, he distinguished himself as one of reality television’s leading directors. In 2006, he was the recipient of the first DGA award for Outstanding Achievement in Reality Directing for the show “Three Wishes.” “Shooting Sizemore” earned him a nomination for that same award in 2007. In 2008, he was presented with the Outstanding Achievement in Reality Directing a second time for his work on “America’s Next Top Model,” making him the first person ever to receive the award for Outstanding Reality Direction from the DGA twice.  “America's Next Top Model” earned him his fourth nomination for that same award in 2012. Additional credits include: “American Dream Builders,” “King of the Nerds,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Oprah’s The Big Give,” “Rock Star: INXS,” “The Price Of Beauty,” “Momma’s Boys,” “Ex-Wives Club,” “Outback Jack,” “The Surreal Life,” and “Average Joe.” Tony also serves as the Director of Photography on most of the shows he directs. His talents as a DP earned him Emmy nominations for his work on “The Apprentice” and “Survivor.” He lives in Southern California with his wife who was also his high school sweetheart, and their two wonderful and talented children (click here to see Croll kid's sports).
